Television, internet, radio, newspapers, at home, at work, at school, in social networks, friends, family and even to ourselves, always reminding us this message. Hatred, discrimination, injustice, abuse, egocentricity, feeling better than others are present in our everyday life, leading to a blindfolding living forgetting what is truly important condemning our thoughts into an endless maze. The campesinos movement is more than a noble cause. The campesino fight is a legitimate movement that acts according to its ideals where there are no names, no homes, no borders, no nationality or origin, past or future. What exists is a single voice, one spirit, one cause and the same battle cry, a cry that represents years of struggle, dreams, ideals and thousands of lives: ¡SI SE PUEDE!
The UFW has shown us that reality is constructed on the basis of effort, of struggle and resistance not from one single person but from many, from all. This is a clear example of why taking action now is needed. It’s time, la causa cannot wait any longer, hundreds of campesinos die from degrading working conditions every day. How many more are needed to lose?!
