Mecca — Coachella Unincorporated was in Mecca, Calif. Monday, September 8, as the Coachella Valley was under flash flood warning due to a storm caused by Hurricane Norbert.

Though the hurricane was centered over Baja California, the Eastern Coachella Valley received plenty of rain Monday morning. Flooded roads made it difficult for residents to leave the area and dangerous for children to walk anywhere near the Mecca Library.

We spoke to a few Mecca residents who voiced their concerns over the flooding in their community.
