Assemblymember Perez, Hometown Heroes to Lead Christmas Parade Dec. 13

COACHELLA — The City of Coachella’s annual Christmas parade will be held in the streets of downtown Coachella Friday, December 13, 2013 at 6pm to a theme of “A Jingle Bell Rock Christmas.”

An overflow crowd is expected to come watch the marching bands, floats, and guests of honor. Nearly 100 entries will compete for the Sweepstakes and Mayors Trophy. The parade has been a Coachella tradition for over 35 years. The Grand Marshal for this year’s parade will be Assemblymember V. Manuel Perez. Perez will be joined by Coachella’s Hometown Heroes.

“The streets of Coachella are filled with the Holiday spirit,” said Councilwoman Maggie Zepeda who will be among the honorees. “I can’t wait to be a part of what is annually a joyous evening.”

The parade starts at 1st Street and Harrison Street, heads south to 6th Street, heads east on 6th Street, and ends at Veterans Memorial Park.
