COACHELLA — Grab your sweatbands and prepare to Zumba your way to a cure for cancer this Saturday, March 23, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club on Bagdad Avenue.
In continuation of March’s Relay for Life, Zumba 4 a Cure continues the quest for cancer awareness. Participant can jumpstart their weekend with this Latin-inspired fitness program that is easy-to-follow and fun for all ages.
Tickets will be available at the door or may be picked up in advance. Donations of $10 are requested, but not required. All proceeds benefit Relay for Life, Boys and Girls Club of Coachella, and Coachella Chamber of Commerce.
“I would rather be an advocate than a victim,” says Marisa Aceves, event coordinator, who was inspired after a personal experience with cancer. “This is an opportunity to come together under a universal cause that connects us all, as we continue to seek a cure.”
This proactive approach to combat cancer will feature the talents of seven local Zumba instructors and the musical stylings of DJ Boost.
